Telangana NEET UG 2025 – Domicile Rules for MBBS/BDS admission under the State Quota (85%), 15% unreserved quota, and Management quota, based on KNRUHS guidelines:

🏥 Telangana NEET UG Medical Admission – Domicile & Eligibility Rules

To be eligible for 85% State Quota seats in Government and Private Medical/Dental Colleges in Telangana, NEET UG 2025 candidates must meet specific local/non-local criteria. Others may apply under the 15% unreserved quota or management quota.

⚠️ Important: Please refer to the official KNRUHS Information Bulletin and respective college brochures before applying.

✅ Eligibility for 85% Telangana State Quota Seats (Local Candidate)

A candidate qualifies as a local candidate under any of the following:
1.    4-Year Rule (Study or Residence):
•    The candidate has studied 4 consecutive academic years in an educational institution in Telangana immediately before the qualifying exam (Class 12/Intermediate).
OR
•    The candidate has resided in the local area for 4 consecutive years immediately before the qualifying exam.
2.    7-Year Study Rule (Fallback Criteria):
•    The candidate has studied in Telangana for 7 consecutive academic years prior to the qualifying exam.
•    If studied in more than one local area, eligibility is based on the area where the candidate studied the most.
•    If equal time spent in more than one area, eligibility is based on the last studied area.
3.    7-Year Residency Rule (No Study in Telangana):
•    If the candidate did not study in Telangana but resided for 7 consecutive years, they will be considered local to that area.

🧾 Eligibility for 15% Unreserved Category (Open Quota within Telangana)

A candidate is eligible under the 15% unreserved (non-local) quota if:
1.    Candidate has resided in Telangana for 10 years or more, excluding periods spent outside for studies.
2.    Either parent has resided in Telangana for at least 10 years, excluding employment-related absences.
3.    Parent or spouse is employed in:
•    State or Central Government
•    Public Sector Undertaking (PSU)
•    Local authority
•    Government-recognized educational institution in Telangana

🏛️ Eligibility for Management Quota Seats (Private Colleges)

These seats are open to all Indian candidates who have passed NEET UG with qualifying marks and meet subject criteria.
1.    For Non-Telangana State Candidates:
•    Must obtain a Certificate of Equivalence from the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), Telangana and attach it during application.
2.    For International / NRI / Foreign Candidates:
•    Must submit a Certificate of Equivalence from both:
•    Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
•    Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), Telangana

📌 Key Notes:
•    Local areas include the combined Telangana districts that come under the jurisdiction of Osmania University, Kakatiya University, etc.
•    Students not meeting local criteria can still apply under Management Quota.
•    Certificates & proof of residence/study must be submitted during document verification.
•    Incorrect or incomplete documentation may lead to cancellation of candidature.
